Parent Letter Faith Reflection

Hope is the thing with feathers/That perches in the soul/And sings the tune without the words/And never stops at all//And sweetest in the gale is heard/And sore must be the storm/That could abash the little bird/that kept so many warm//I’ve heard it in the chilliest land/And on the strangest sea/Yet, never, in extremity/It asked a crumb of me.

— Emily Dickinson

Dragonflies are hard to catch. They can fly in any direction, including backwards and sideways, and they are amazingly fast. But it’s summer break and we can slow down. Instead of stressing that we can’t catch dragonflies we can sit back and think how “Dragonflies are reminders that we are light and we can reflect light in powerful ways if we choose to do so,” as Robyn Nola said.

So enjoy summer, look for dragonflies and reflect the light of Christ wherever you are over break.

Showcasing SHA talent: Anthony in 5th didn’t draw a dragonfly but his butterfly reflects the light beautifully.
