  Mrs. Seter recently attended a 2-day workshop on Singapore Math. Today, SHA 3rd Graders learned how to use the concept of bar modeling to solve difficult word problems. Word problems are usually quite a challenge, but Singapore Math helps students visualize the problem to find solutions. GREAT JOB 3rd Graders!

• 2:59 5th Grade "Hogwarts House Cup Challenge"

  Students competed in teams to win the House Cup. Teams used Order of Operations to earn and deduct points as they fell down trapdoors, got lost in the Forbidden Forest, received Invisibility Cloaks, and got caught doing magic in front of muggles. 2013 House Cup Winner - SLYTHERIN with a total of 670 points. GREAT JOB TO ALL COMPETITORS!

  3rd graders took a little tropical vacation today during LEAP. Victoria, Kyle, Nathan, Adam, and Trent learned about place value and rounding as they hopped from island to island.

  End of the year slide show for the class. The first five songs snippets were what we used for "Song of the Day" to which we danced to each day. Then of course I had to use theme song to Star Wars. Lastly, the Sacred Heart Song. We had a great year! I hope you enjoy the slide show!!
