Bradley Vail Turner, Music
Since February of 1999, I've been sauntering from class to class with my guitar singing songs to the Lord with our beloved Sacred Heart Academy Students! Every grade from Kindergarten through 8th grade has classroom Music once a week.
Younger students focus on singing new songs and learning about the basics of music, such as: pitch, timing and timbre. Older students sing as well, but also study more advanced musical concepts such as: reading music notation, and learning about the great composers.
Sacred Heart has 3 after-school programs as well: Jr. High Choir, Elementary Choir and School of Rock. Elementary Choir is offered for 3rd-5th grades and Jr. High Choir is for 6th-8th grades. School of Rock is an exciting instrument program for intermediate and advanced musical instrument students. In the School of Rock, we rehearse as a band to prepare music for Morning Assembly, Weekly Mass, and special events. Students DO NOT learn to play their instruments in School Rock. This program is for students who already play a musical instrument. If your child is musical, get them in Choir or School of Rock!
From Morning Assembly to classroom music to Choir and School of Rock at the end of the day, we never stop singing! YEA!
