Principal's Letter Faith Reflection

Know this, my dear brothers and sisters, everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger./Tengan bien presente, hermanos y hermanas muy queridos, que debemos estar dispuestos a escuchar y ser lentos para hablar y para enojarn. James/Santiago 1:19

Not too long ago we focused on being silent, then we went in the opposite direction and talked about being noisy. Profound listening is the foundation of what we do in prayer with God, and can carry over to listening to others. So today we listen. Again I turn to the synod sessions held in the Vatican last month, adapted for our purpose here.

“Listening is positioning itself as the way of understanding what the narrative is that God wants to tell us human beings.” Sister Liliana Franco Echeverri, said during a press conference.  “Listening gives us the possibility of drawing close to one another and to God’s love more serenely, sincerely, and reverently. Listening truly transforms us and converts us.”

“Profound questions do not seek information." wrote Vatican News. "They invite us to be alive in a new way, and to speak in a new language." They went on to pull from poet Rainer Rilke as asking questions goes to listening, “Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”

Showcasing SHA talent: Enjoy listening to music by Adalynn in 3rd grade as much as this sweet dog.
