Parent Letter Faith Reflection

And hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us./Y la esperanza no quedará defraudada, porque el amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo, que nos ha sido dado.—Romans 5:5

Easter comes at a time here in the northern hemisphere when the days are getting longer, trees are starting to blossom, and the farmers markets are again carrying produce we have been waiting for since fall. Easter is a time of hope and the smell of orange blossoms and roadside stands filled with strawberries is a stunning visual that says hope doesn’t disappoint.

In the aptly titled “Poem of Hope,” by French poet Marietta Martin, we can nurture the hope of Easter:

One day there will be no more unexpressed words of love,

There will be no more stifled desires,

There will be no more silent presences: all the voices will be heard,

The veil which the music lifts will never more be lowered,

There will be no more inaccessible space, and

the spool of time will unwind in the present,

All the sister particles of souls will join together,

The sunsets will be explained

Beauty will lose it anguish,

Creation will be the clear word of divinity,

One day, like a beautiful voyage toward the beloved dead,

Showcasing SHA talent: This cherry tree made by Finn in 6th gives us hope—you can smell the blossoms, his tree is so beautiful.
